Technical benefit analysis of resin sand casting process
1) The casting mold and sand core of resin sand can be hardened and formed at room temperature without drying in the kiln, which can save a lot of fuel and drying hours; It does not need pneumatic tamping, saves compressed air and greatly reduces the noise of pneumatic tamping.
2) The resin sand has high final strength after hardening, so the core bone can be greatly simplified. For large sand cores, only a few thick "toothless keels" need to be properly placed. For general sand cores, the core bone can be omitted. For individual parts that need to be strengthened, only round steel or iron nails of different thickness are needed as core iron, which can be inserted in the parts that need to be strengthened, and the hanging can also be bent by round steel. In this way, all core iron and hanging climbing can be used repeatedly.
3) The final strength of resin sand is high, and the sand consumption can be reduced.
4) Resin sand mold has high final strength, so it is suitable to adopt box free molding for large castings, so as to reduce the amount of sand box and tooling cost; At the same time, due to the good collapsibility of resin sand, the sand can be dropped only by slight vibration after pouring, which avoids the violent knocking and strong vibration on the sand box when the clay sand is boxed, so as to prolong the service life of the sand box. For the multi variety and small batch foundry with an annual output of 1500 tons of castings, it can reduce the input of 20 tons of sand box and tooling every year.
5) The resin sand mold has high final strength and is generally not prone to box expansion defects. The riser can be appropriately reduced in the process design to realize no riser casting. At the same time, it is easy to design the box merging of castings of different sizes, so as to improve the yield of molten iron. Due to the high dimensional accuracy of resin sand castings, the machining allowance is reduced, the weight out of tolerance of castings is reduced, and the molten iron is saved.
6) Due to the good collapsibility of resin sand, the core iron is simplified. Pouring, sand removal and cleaning are very simple. Compared with clay sand, 10 hours of sand removal and cleaning can be saved per ton of cast iron.
7) Resin sand casting has high precision and small machining allowance. For large quantities of castings, it is easy to go to the machining center.
8) The resin sand just mixed has strong filling property and good fluidity. After sand filling, the workers only need to scrape it gently without pneumatic tamping. On the one hand, it prolongs the service life of the wood mold, on the other hand, it greatly reduces the labor intensity of the workers and improves the production efficiency of molding and core making. Compared with clay sand, the molding and core making man hour per ton of casting can be reduced by 12 hours.
9) Resin sand castings have better surface quality and internal quality, and the amount of defect welding repair can be reduced.
